St. Paul says, “For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.” Gal. 3:21b.
Gal 3:11 NKJV – But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God [is] evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”
If obeying the law does not produce life, what does that mean for the theory that Christ’s perfect obedience to the law made Him the perfect sacrifice and our juridical substitute?
In fact, was it not His being God incarnate giving His very life in exchange for our death, that has brought life to us? Christ lived by faith in God, and by doing so always pleased the Father.
